Our Team
Marcus Alan McGhee is a licensed attorney and trusted advisor on ethics, accountability, and investigative strategy. He counsels state and local governments, professionals, and the public on evaluating ethical risk, investigating misconduct, and strengthening accountability systems. As a former ethics prosecutor and senior ethics advisor for a State Supreme Court, he built a reputation as a trusted problem-solver in judicial and attorney administration and disciplinary matters. He has investigated hundreds and publicly prosecuted over a dozen high-profile ethics matters. During the pandemic, he played a key role in shaping operational responses that balanced access to justice, public safety, and continuity of court functions. Moreover, he has provided meaningful contributions to legal education. In conjunction with an ABA-accredited law school, he conceptualized, designed, and launched a new online course focusing on ethics. He has also served as a featured author with a wide range of legal journals on key issues affecting the public, including gender rights, health, and access to justice. As an advocate, administrator, and academic, Marcus’ background underscores his longstanding engagement with the field of ethics, his command of the overlapping issues, and his dedication to providing sound guidance.
Marcus received his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Criminal Justice, cum laude, and his Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) from Northern Kentucky University. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) (with graduate certificates in Criminal Law and Natural and Environmental Resources Law) and his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Human Rights Law, with distinction, from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. Marcus also obtained his Master of Science (M.S.) in Justice, Law & Criminology from the School of Public Affairs at The American University. He is a member of the Indiana bar.
